Paid Family Leave Becomes Law

New Jersey has become the third state in our country to pass Paid Family Leave legislation.  Governor Jon Corzine signed the bill into law on May 2, 2008.  Special thanks to Senate Majority Leader Steve Sweeney (Iron Workers 399) and Assemblyman Nelson Albano (UFCW 152) for their strong advocacy and persistence on this important issue.  Thank you to the New Jersey Partnership for Working Families Coalition and all of the local unions who lobbied in support of Paid Family Leave.  Your advocacy means a lot to working families in New Jersey.
